Such a busy wedding week!  Clay and I worked most of last week (and weekend!) preparing for our May wedding!  Our bride and I went out Saturday to pick flowers for arrangements and bouquets, gather supplies for centerpieces and favors, and pick up some odds and ends.  We visited the church, printed invitations and thank you notes, and packaged the cutest little favors (check back for pictures!)!

The couple also had their engagement pictures taken this past weekend and overall, we are checking off our to-do list!

Today, I’m excited to feature a FANTASTIC talent!  Out of the blue, I get a phone call from Jimm Wright, floral design expert, a week before the Boro Bridal Ball.  After pleasantries, business info and some talk about the bridal fair, this extraordinary gentleman offers to make an arrangment for our concept table – an incredibly generous offer!  The picture below, taken by Amber (Lotus Blossom Photography), is a favorite.  Not only are Jimm’s prices UNBELIEVABLY affordable, but he has a wonderful eye for color and scale!  He also has some fantastic rentals (i.e. vases, candleabras, etc.) for centerpieces, altar arrangements or reception decor.

I contacted Jimm about being featured in our blog and he graciously provided us with information re: his services and pictures for drooling!  Without further ado….

Jimm Wright Designs was established in 2004 in Nashville Tennessee. Jimm Wright is an event stylist and floral designer and is originally from western New York.  He specializes in events and wedding design.  Jimm designs the event using not only flowers but considers all the elements of the venue and the clients particular taste or theme to create an exciting custom “look”.  He takes into consideration the venue being considered, the cloth selections, lighting, the use of props etc.

Jimm states that he loves his work because each event is a new challenge and working with new clients always proves to be exciting.  He has been in the design field for over 25 years doing interior design, display work and floral design.  He says one of the highlights of his career was working on the presidential inauguration of George Blush Senior in Washington DC. He has been privileged to do some celebrity work here in Nashville.  He created some theme parties and weddings for Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Derks Bentley to name a few.  (Kennedy Occasions note:  Anyone else completely awestruck?)

Most of my weekends are my work week.  It seems that most wedding and events happen on Friday or Saturdays.  I still make time to spend with my wife Risa.  We enjoy concerts and the music scene in Nashville and take advantage of enjoying different types of music and theater.

Things that make me smile are a satisfied client, a good joke and lots of bookings.

Jimm enjoys gardening and doing calligraphy.

A tip for prospective brides is to find great vendors and listen to their advice and plan on spending about 15% more than you budgeted your event to cost. It seems that most clients don’t realize the cost of putting an event or wedding together.

Jimm, thank you so much for allowing us to showcase your talent!  We look forward to seeing you again!
